M&M’s – strange name!
Our group was nameless until, during a study/discussion we talked about different personality traits, different ways we serve and the various talents we have. It reminded us of the story of Mary and Martha. Shortened to M&M, Mary and Martha gave us our name.
We meet in Wheatland House on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month, from 10am to 12 noon. Our get-togethers are informal, flexible and very enjoyable. We have studies, discussion topics, craft sessions and arrange outings.
In September 2018 members enjoyed a visit to the Wittunga Botanic Garden and appreciated the wonders of nature as they walked around by the lake admiring the colourful flowering Australian and South African shrubs collected by the original owner beginning in 1902 and the ducks and birds.
Just prior to Christmas members were given instructions by one of our members to build a “Gingerbread House” using Arnotts biscuits. Everyone participated and all houses remained standing.
We are about to start our 2019 programmes which will include Worship, Service, Study and Recreation.
NEW MEMBERS ALWAYS WELCOME.
For many years as an outreach, we supported a Cancer support group with a community morning tea.
